ILM level 7 in Strategic Leadership

At Pulse, we’re delighted (and just a little bit proud!) to announce that we have now been accredited to provide the prestigious Institute of Leadership and Management Level 7 award.

By adding level 7 to our comprehensive range of ILM programmes we now have leadership development options to cater from the aspiring team leader to the senior manager – the ILM Level 7 programme in Strategic Leadership is among ILM's most senior qualifications.

We provide practising and aspiring senior managers with a wide range of topics for their formal development as leaders in their fields. Completion will help participants gain comprehensive understanding of the knowledge and skills required to deliver results for themselves, their team, the organisation, customers and other key stakeholders.

The programme is delivered through a unique blend of learning, centred on executive coaching, that is tailored to the needs of each participant.

ILM LEVEL 7 are challenging and rewarding programmes so to find out more about how you and your organisation will benefit contact us at info@pulsetraininganddevelopment.co.uk

Leading Pigs!

At one of our recent ILM Leadership courses, where delegates are asked to do a final presentation to  communicate their interpretation of the learning they've experienced, we were delighted when Louise Baddley from St Edwards C of E Primary school Rochdale decided to go for a more creative and ambitious approach to the challenge....

We loved the way she'd interpreted Daniel Goleman's emotional intelligence leadership styles in this hugely entertaining and practical video.

Thank you to Louise and not forgetting the hugely talented stars of the show Michele, Wibbly & Peppa!

We continue to work with lots of schools in North West on Leadership at all levels so please get in touch with Della, Silka or me... Judy for more information if you'd like to know more.

Play to Your Strengths...Individualised Leadership Competency Feedback

Many leaders have told us how much they value individualised feedback on their performance specifically in relation to their leadership skills. Typically it can be very hard to get this in an objective, meaningful and constructive way...

Through its partnership with McCormac, Pulse is also proud to offer its clients ASSESS …. a state of the art, Web-based “Expert System” that interprets well researched, widely used tests on “Work Based Personality”. ASSESS feedback and coaching packages provide highly effective personalised development for senior Managers and leadership teams and those aspiring to such roles.  Equally it can be highly beneficial in talent management situations to nurture, encourage and develop those with potential.

ASSESS models the judgment of a business psychologist and benchmarks the results against core competencies for success in the current and future role. Uniquely, it is the ONLY system that can measure the effectiveness of individuals and teams against bespoke competency clusters and desired capabilities for success in a specific leadership/management role.

Leadership teams can benefit from using ASSESS to learn about each other and it can even provide information about how the whole team interacts with each other.

ASSESS reports are designed for managers, written in business language and provide the feedback you would obtain from a day with a Behavioural Psychologist – but at a fraction of the cost.

ASSESS is recognised internationally as the system to support a framework to develop and bespoke competency models, measure and identify top talent at recruitment or assessment stage and develop a flexible learning programme that meets both the individual and specific needs of managers and teams throughout their careers.

A friend and business associate, on hearing the news about the formation of Pulse said “I love the names of your business partners they are so exotic sounding!” Silka and Della have had a good chuckle at the thought of being seen as exotic, however it did get us thinking about the range of interesting, usual and downright fascinating people you meet at networking and training events.

For amusement, we thought we’d reminisce over some we've met over the years and right up to last week…..

  • A delegate who had provided the “voice” for the lift in the House of Commons (she was so lovely to listen to)
  •  A world champion sky diver
  • A number of soap extras most recently Hollyoaks
  • A delegate that liked nude motor biking (most definitely not recommended for Health and Safety reasons to name just one!)and not forgetting,
  • A Headteacher who devotes most of her spare time to bellydancing
Maybe you can add to our list? All exotics and unusuals are very welcome!

Seriously, one thing we've learnt is you never know who you are going to meet and what you can learn from fellow delegates so why not widen your horizons and open yourself to possibilities....

On that note, as part of the "Network and Grow in Wigan Borough, Bigger Business Programme" we'd like to highlight a FREE networking workshop.

Working alongside businesses and networks within Wigan Borough, this workshop has been developed to support business growth.

Welcome to Pulse....

A blog is merely a tool that lets you do anything from change the world to share your shopping list. ~ Unknown

Some of you will know us (Della, Judy and me.. Silka) from Workforce Solutions and some of you will know me from Growing Enterprise.

Well, we finally took the plunge late last year and came together as a new venture... so here we are, this is us and we hope to be talking to you sometime soon!If you haven't already done so, take a look at our new website at www.pulsetraininganddevelopment.co.uk and let us know what you think!

In our collective wisdom (?)  it was decided that along with the new website we should, most definitley, have a Blog!

To add to that wisdom, I volunteered myself to start the blog rolling. An odd choice some might think, since I have virtually no experience of  reading, let alone writing a blog.  However filled with my usual optimistic naivety and passion for research I thought I would give it a go.

So, what will our blog do?  The honest answer is I’m not 100% sure yet because our blog should and will no doubt evolve (you could of course interpret that as we’ll be making it up as we go along which is probably also true!) and we want it to reflect your interests and needs so we'll be adding things as we discover what they are.  However as a start we will ….

 ·         Keep you updated with our latest news, share ideas, information and tips relating to current training and development topics.

·         Let you have your say.

·         Signpost you to any funding and good opportunities out there……

So on that note without further ado ….
